Why is Cookie Clicker so Fun?

I was watching a video by SethBling, a youtuber who plays Minecraft, in which he built Cookie Clicker in Minecraft. During his video (linked hear) he wonders why everyone is so in love with Cookie Clicker. It's a good question, why is a game where you click on a cookie so fun. I believe there are a number of things that make this game so compelling.

  1. The achievements. Many people do not care or understand achievements, however, there are many, including myself, who love them.
  2. Progress. The next level is just close enough to be attainable, but not so close as to leave you board.
  3. It's funny! This may not make much sense if you have not played it, however, the game has a quote at the top of the page that changes periodically, many of the achievements are for funny things, and the entire idea of the game is just a little ridiculous.

In the end, it may not be a game for everyone, but chances are, you will fall in love with it as I have.

I Have a New Website!!

Why:

I guess I just wanted a place on the internet to call my own. I do not really use any social networks because the main way I communicate with the people I know is via my cell phone. However, being a computer science major means that having a  website just makes scene.

Why Now:

I wanted to put this website up now because I will be looking for a job/internship soon and I believe having a place to learn more about me, even if it is a little sparse, is important. Also I have been aware that reedclanton.com has been available for a while, and after listening to public figures speak about how they wish there personal website had a better name, I thought it might be a good idea to grab this domain name while I still could.

What Took Me So Long:

Money. Plane and simple. In order to get a domain, hosting, and website management  that I believe to be reliable, easy to use, and easy on the eyes of this sites viewers, it costs about $100 a year and I am in college. Simple as that.
